On 7 October 2026, the first issue of “Frontier Review”, a new investigative and analytical bulletin published by Bonum Publicum Media, was presented in Riga, Latvia.

The first issue focuses on emerging hybrid threats during the current electoral cycle in Latvia and their implications for security across the European Union and NATO. The authors particularly emphasise that the electoral process in the Republic of Latvia is not yet over. Although the elections have already taken place, a critically important phase is now underway: the formation of a new governing coalition.

Particular attention is devoted to the links between Latvian politicians and businessmen Ainārs Šlesers and Aleksandrs Bartaševičs and representatives of the Russian Federation’s security services.

The presentation was attended by representatives of the diplomatic missions of the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, Finland, Lithuania, Estonia, Türkiye and Japan, a newly elected MP from the “United List” (Apvienotais saraksts), as well as independent journalists and civil society activists.

The full version of “Frontier Review” was provided to all participants, including diplomats and media representatives, and will also be sent to relevant government institutions. Upon request, it has also been sent to a number of journalists in Latvia, Lithuania and Spain.

The presentation was held with the support of the European Journalists’ Society.
